This page will be dedicated to Europe, and their way of life. The best way to travel is and always has been by train. Whether you land in Lisbon, Madrid, Paris, London, Rome, or any other capital city in Europe, you will find either the underground ( Metro ) available. It is reasonably priced and will take you down town.
Our most recent trip has been to Italy and sure enough you could go straight from the airport to the Termini Station in downtown Rome. In a radius of a couple of hundred feet from Termini you can find plenty of hotels and hostels to stay for a night or two while you see Rome and then decide to go to other destinations.
The high speed trains will take you to Venice. Much cheaper and more comfortable than renting a car and you don’t have to deal with the horrendous busy city traffic which is a nightmare.
The same holds true in other capitals so make this your first means of transport. The other great advantage is that you don’t have to worry about parking ( which is expensive ), since most of the trains go downtown and walking around is the best way to see Europe.
